Mr. Peabody & Sherman Time Period Party!!

My kids were THRILLED to receive the movie Mr. Peabody & Sherman on Blu-ray Combo Pack.  They were super bummed that we weren't able to see it in the theater so were VERY excited to see this movie.  Honestly as soon as the movie ended my 10 year old came and asked if she could watch it again.  That's how much she liked it!  I must also add that while this movie was on I didn't hear from all three of my children.  I even came in to check on my youngest because usually silence means bad things.  All of you moms know what I'm talking about!!!  She was actually watching the movie with her big brother and sister.  I call that a win!!!

Now aside from that winning review, the Fox Home Entertainment Insiders gave me a super fun task...  to have a Time Period Party with my kids!  We were given the Athens Greece time period and a couple of crafts to construct and my kids had a great time!  We got to make a toga and an armor mask and helmet.  The kids really had a fun time!

The above picture is of my girls showing off our crafts.  Bella is sporting an adorable toga made from a white sheet and pillow case along with some pretty ribbons that she picked out from Michael's - the craft store.  The toga was super easy to make.  You can use any fabric that you have on hand an wrap it around your child - securing it with safety pins.  The strap was made from a white pillow case that we wrapped with ribbon and safety pinned onto the toga.  Bella thought she was pretty stylish in this ensemble!  It was super fun to create this toga!

Ava is holding up the mask inspired by the Trojan War.  The kids made it from construction paper and a popsicle stick.  It is super cute and the kids loved wearing them!

The kids had a wonderful time making the crafts and then LOVED watching the movie - Mr. Peabody & Sherman.  This movie was super cute!  I have to share the pictures below.  My kids were given some cute glasses and bow ties just like the movie and they had a great time dressing up.  I love that the kids had a great time with this movie.  It has been fun traveling "WAY Back" to Athens Greece!  If you haven't seen this adorable movie, I highly recommend it... as do Bella, Sam & Ava!
