Journey 2: The Mysterious Island Review

Earlier this month, Warner Brothers released Journey 2: The Mysterious Island to Blu-ray and DVD.  We were so happy to receive a Blu-ray combo pack of this movie to review!  We all watched this movie for our weekly family movie night last week.  I have always been a huge fan of Dewayne "The Rock" Johnson, so I was certainly up to watching any movie that he's in!  This movie is about Hank (Dewayne Johnson) and his step-son Sean (Josh Hutcherson) trying to find "The Mysterious Island" from clues sent to Sean by his grandfather.  When the pair and their helicopter pilot and daughter crash onto The Mysterious Island, they are amazed to find that creatures that are small in our world are VERY large on the island and vice versa.  The kids and I loved when Hank picks up a small (and very cute) elephant!  The four find Sean's grandfather and all have a crazy adventure trying to get back home.  This is a really great movie!  We haven't seen the first movie, but weren't lost at all with this one.  This is a great family movie and has something for everyone - love, adventure and comedy!  Pick up your copy today!
Synopsis:

The follow-up to the 2008 hit! The new journey begins when young adventurer Sean (Josh Hutcherson) receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist—a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret. Unable to stop him from going, Sean’s new stepfather (Dwayne Johnson) joins the quest. Together with a helicopter pilot (Luis Guzman) and his beautiful, strong-willed daughter (Vanessa Hudgens), they set out to find the island, rescue its lone inhabitant and escape before seismic shockwaves force the island under the sea and bury its treasures forever.
