My Daily Thrifty Tip for March 7, 2011

#98 Take shorter showers. You can save water and energy by taking shorter showers. I am pretty speedy in the shower because I don't have much time in the morning to get ready. There is no need to stay in the shower for longer than 10 minutes unless you are a coal miner. (ha ha) For women who need to shave their legs, try putting in the tub stopper and turn off the water after you are finished with your hair and body, then use the water in the tub to shave your legs. Another tip is to turn off the water while you are lathering up and use the water only to rinse off. You can certainly see a difference in your water bill when you become more diligent about saving water! To put this into perspective, a four minute shower uses approximately 20 to 40 gallons of water!
