My Daily Thrifty Tip for December 8, 2010

#9 Try Shopping/Trading in Clothes at Consignment Stores. If you have kids you have tons of barely worn outgrown clothing and shoes. There are many things to do with this clothing: save for a younger sibling or family member, donate to Goodwill, or sell in a yard sale. All of these are great options! I have recently tried taking my kids outgrown clothes and toys to a consignment store. I am very happy with the way it works! I just take a pile of stuff I don't need and they look through it and sell what they can. While they are checking through my bags, my children and I look through the store and find great gently used toys and clothes and I usually leave owing nothing! They just keep a record of what has sold and what I bought. It's easy and saves me money! I might as well buy used since like I said, kids grow out of things so fast that they don't get the chance to "wear it out"! I like this option more than having a yard sale or trying to sell stuff on ebay or Craig's List because that takes alot more of my time.

Awesome tip, I really need to do this. I keep thinking I will sell some of DD's clothes on ebay (Gymboree) but never get around to it.
