My Daily Thrifty Tip for December 23, 2010

#24 Consider dropping your gym membership. How much do you spend on monthly gym membership fees? Do you regularly go to the gym? If you pay $70 a month and only go once a week you are spending $14 per visit. Some gyms let you pay per visit. Calculate if it would be less expensive for you to pay per visit that it would to pay for a membership. If you do go almost daily it would be better to pay for a membership, but if you aren't going to the gym as much consider dropping your membership and pocketing the savings!

This was one of the first things we did when we started budgeting and attempting to cut costs/ save money. It was only $50/mo for both of us but we weren't using it so it was $50 wasted. Now, I walk on the treadmill at home and hubby goes out and plays golf and we are both getting more exercise cheaper.
