This summer we have lots of road trips planned and recently we made a long drive to see family over the holiday weekend.  It's hard to keep all of the kids happy in the car for a long trip, but this time I was armed with a Digital HD copy of Rio 2 along with some other fun activities for the kiddos to do in the car!
Each child received an adorable Rio 2 beach bad filled with fun stuff for our road trip including Rio 2 themed activity sheets, colored pencils, Rio 2 shaped rubber band bracelets, tissues, travel toothbrushes, and a Rio 2 themed magnetic picture frame!  As you can see, Bella, Sam and Caleb are super excited to head out on the road with these goodies!  Anytime we go on a long car trip I try to pack enough activities and snacks to keep the kids busy.  It keeps my husband and I from hearing "Are we there yet?" and "How much longer?" a million times!

The highlight of the trip was the brand new movie Rio 2!  I hadn't let them watch the movie before our trip because I wanted them have something new to watch, hoping it would get their undivided attention.  This movie definitely kept their attention and had them cracking up at some parts and singing along at others!   It is so nice to have the ability to entertain your kids in the car with a movie.  I'm sure all of you can remember how this wasn't an option for us growing up!

All in all we had a great trip!  It was a two hour drive and the kids were occupied for the most part.  There were a few squabbles but nothing major!  Thank you Fox Home Entertainment Insiders for helping to keep this mommy sane on our trip!  Rio 2 was a huge hit with the kids!  If you have any tips for a successful road trip with kids, leave it in the comments!  I'd love to hear it!

I have given my grandkids a list of items to look for while we travel which keeps them busy. You can also have them look for license plates for all of the states. In addition, we take a portable dvd player and travel board games to keep the kids busy.
