I try to repurpose things; I wash zip loc bags, I use store bags as garbage bags, etc.

My tip: make your own instead of buying.

Make from scratch when possible!

Only buy what you need, the fridge shouldn't be filled so that you don't know what's in the back of the freezer, and who knows how old.

Don't buy things you don't need, DIY when you can, always look for the best deals when you need to buy something.

Plan your meals based around what items are for sale that week. Stockpile when items are at their lowest prices. Match sales with coupons.

We make all of our own cleaning products. I used to buy the cleaning section of the store out!

Menu! We have saved so much dining out money by following an at home menu.

Buy non-perishable items that you use often when they are on sale (even if you do not need them)..It will save you money in the long run. Don't let not having a lot of space stop you from doing this, look up ways to stockpile in a small place.

so many great tips here!!!!

I have found that the best way for me to save money for my family of 5 is buy lots of meat when it's on sale, then spread it out throughout the week (or two) into a different meal every day.

and ALWAYS match coupons with sales!!!

Some weekly ads are posted days ahead of time like CVS and Walgreens so make sure to get a head start on the deals.

For couponers who shop at Walgreen's, always check out in cosmetics. The clerks there are always less hurried than the clerks working the front registers; therefore, they make fewer mistakes with your coupons and sales. I have always found them to be more helpful and they always seem to know more about prices and policies.

Only stockpile what you can use . Sales run in cycles. I don't rush out everytime for the sales if I have a good supply on hand.

Shop for produce at your local farmer's markets. Eat seasonally and locally and you'll save a lot of money vs. shopping at grocery stores.

I grocery shop at Walmart with fliers from all the local stores. They match all their prices and you don't have to drive around.
