My Daily Thrifty Tip for March 1, 2011
#92 Switch your incandescent light bulbs to compact fluorescent light bulbs. If you haven't already now is the time to switch out your light bulbs to compact fluorescent light bulbs or CFL's. They are more expensive to purchase but they can last 10 times longer than regular incandescent light bulbs. One CFL bulb can save $40 in electricity costs over it's lifetime by using 75% less energy than regular incandescent light bulbs.
If every household replaced just three 60-watt incandescent bulbs with CFL bulbs, the pollution savings would be like taking 3.5 million cars off the road! Doesn't it feel good to save money and our planet?
