Little Green Books Review and Giveaway (5 Winners!) - CLOSED

My kids and daycare kids love books! They love for me to read to them. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review Little Green Books! Little Green Books is a new eco-friendly series from Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing Division. Each book in this series is devoted to educating children about the benefits of being green. The books that I received are: "What do You See?", "This is Our World", "Don't Throw That Away" and "Santa Claus Is Green!" The really cool part is that all of these books are made from recycled materials! What a great message for our kids!

What Do You See?: A Lift-the-Flap Book About Endangered Animals by Stephen Krensky

Stephen Krensky's clever rhyming text entices young readers to guess which endangered species is hiding beneath each flap! From a panda bear to a butterfly, each spread features text and die cuts which hint at the animal's identity, until finally it is revealed by lifting the flap! Composed of 100% recycled material, this playful and interactive new title is both entertaining and educational!

The kids loved lifting the flaps and trying to guess which animal the author was writing about.

Santa Claus Is Green!: How to Have an Eco-Friendly Christmas by Alison Inches

Santa Claus is dreaming of a green Christmas! In the spirit of Christmas giving, Santa shows boys and girls that they can give to others while giving back to the Earth -- and have fun while they're doing it! Simple things like riding bicycles to store rather than taking a car, turning the tree lights off during the day and before bed, taking the tree to the community mulching center, using discarded newspapers for gift wrap and making decorations and presents for one another rather than buying new ones are all ways that kids can help Santa celebrate a green Christmas.

This book is meant for children ages 4-6. My daughter, who happens to be in Kindergarten, loves this one! She especially loves the stickers included in this book!

This is a very cool book! You can collect a puzzle piece from each page and make a puzzle at the end of the book. The puzzle pieces are dual sided so you actually have two puzzles to complete at the end of the story!

Don't Throw That Away!: A Lift-the-Flap Book about Recycling and Reusing by Lara Bergen

Follow an eco-conscious super hero as he teaches kids how to recycle and reuse common household items! The five large flaps throughout show that ordinary trash is really a treasure. From turning old clothes into fun costumes or an old box into a brand new car, kids will learn that saving the environment is super cool!

Again, the kids loved lifting the flaps to see what they could create from the trash!

Little Green Books website also has a great Parents & Teachers section that has downloadable activities related to the books, which provide great additional resources for moms interested in sharing more "green" lessons with their children.
