Bedroom Remodeling on a Limited Budget!

As all of you know, I try to spend as little money as possible. Yes, I am a very frugal person, however I really like nice things! Before I had children I wanted to be a real estate flipper. Fixing up houses is my real passion, but right now I just don't have any extra time or money for that dream. My husband and I are thinking of putting our home on the market soon. We are in need of more space! When we purchased this home eight years ago, we thought it was so spacious! Now with two growing kids, two dogs and an in home daycare we are busting at the seams! In order to make our home more appealing to buyers, we would like to get some minor work done on our house. Our first task is a bedroom remodel with a very limited budget.

Remodeling can be as complex as tearing down walls, adding new light fixtures, plumbing, etc. Remodeling can also be simple, such as, changing paint colors, rearranging furniture and purchasing some new pieces. Like I said before, we have a very limited budget. Even if we did have a lot of money to spend on this project, I wouldn't be doing anything too major to a house that we are about to sell!  I found a wonderful website where I can browse tons of lovely photos of finished rooms!  It's great because I can get ideas of what I like and what I don't like in order to base my design on these lovely photos!  I have found so many great ideas at houzz.com.  There are thousands of photos to look at!  You can narrow your search by room, which is great!  I really wish we did have a bigger budget because I love so many of the reading nooks, built in shelving, and window treatments that I've seen!  I also love that when you find a picture you like that you can click on it to add to your idea book.

With our small budget, we will be sticking to a new paint color, new linens and possibly painting our existing mismatched furniture to coordinate with the space.  It is so refreshing to view all of these photos of beautifully decorated rooms and think "Maybe someday!"
